CANSECO COMING TO EDINBURG BASEBALL STADIUM
THURSDAY August 19, 2010
EDINBURG, Texas—The Edinburg Roadrunners of United League Baseball announced today that Jose Canseco will be at Edinburg Baseball Stadium Friday August 20 through Sunday August 22 for the final three games of the series with the Laredo Broncos.
Canseco, who signed with the Laredo Broncos on August 15, has played in three games and has hit two home runs.
The Roadrunners hold a one game lead for first place in the United League standings over the Amarillo Dillas. The Broncos are currently on an eight-game win streak and are in sole possession of third place.
This series will be big for the Roadrunners as they try to increase their lead in the standings before heading to Amarillo for a four-game series starting on August 23.
Tim Haines (3-9) is expected to face Robert Roth (1-4) in the opening game of the four-game series with the Broncos Thursday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
Thursday also marks a Thirsty Thursday where fans can enjoy $2 beers.
Tickets are available by calling the front office at (956)-380-4446 or by visiting www.etix.com online.
The Roadrunners are members of United League Baseball, an independent league of six professional baseball teams located in Texas that include Amarillo, Coastal Bend, Laredo, Rio Grande Valley and San Angelo.
Hard to believe that the Texas Rangers lost the baseball world series. Good for them for being there at least! How long has it been since they last won? Since they were in DC?
